Welcome to Shreveport!
We are proud to host the 2016 Landers Dodge Battle on the Border High School Football Showcase. We are excited to have regional and national football programs show their skills in Independence Stadium. I know football fans from near and far will enjoy seeing these powerhouse football programs.
I invite you to take in the sites and enjoy all that our city has to offer. We have family-friendly attractions such as museums, festivals, parks and more. We have historic landmarks, cultural arts, entertainment sites, shops, and restaurants. If this is your first visit to Shreveport, I hope it will be the first of many visits.
Thank you, again, for visiting our great city. We are proud of Shreveport and what we have to offer our citizens, as well as, visitors to our community. By the end of your visit, we believe that you’ll agree that Shreveport is, indeed, a wonderful place to live, work and play.

Welcome from our Title Sponsor – Denny Rogers
Managing Partner for Landers Dodge • Chrysler • Jeep • Ram and Landers Alfa Romeo
I have great partners with a great sense of community pride in each of our markets. At Landers Dodge • Chrysler • Jeep • Ram and Landers Alfa Romeo – FIAT we are committed to our community and this partnership with the City of Shreveport, the Mayors’ office, SPAR and the Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourism Bureau is an example of that commitment. In its sixth year the Battle on the Border, with the hard work of those involved, will prove to be the best yet. Also, we are proud of our local athletes and chose to recognize them through our ‘Athlete of the Week’ program which culminates in a banquet for the top performers in athletics, academics, extracurricular participation at the school level and community/church service. Landers then provides 3 scholarships annually. Over 890 athletes have been recognized since 1999.
We want the Battle on the Border to continue to grow so everyone can enjoy watching the top teams from the region perform at the highest level of competition. I believe the selection of the twelve teams this year is a tremendous reflection of the type of event that we are trying to bring to Shreveport for years to come.
